Sometimes, You Gotta Do What You Gotta Do

A couple of days ago, me and Mom (she would tell me, that's wrong, it's not "me & Mom", 'cuz "me" isn't a subject, but it should be "Mom & I",  Mom REALLY hates when people use the wrong pronouns.  Like, "Her and her husband went to the ballgame."  She says it sounds like nails across a chalkboard;  If you said, "her went to the ballgame"  you'd know it's just not right and sounds like someone with no education, so....uh, oh...I'm digressing again.  Sorry.  I'll stop.

Any way, WE (that's the right pronoun), went to the Dog Park.  It was a little later than we usually go and I didn't know the dogs well.  Cider was there.  I met him with Auntie Annie.  He's not real nice.  And Cookie was there.  Cookie and her human are really nice, but when Cider is there, they go to the far end of the Park.  When I came in, Cider was really mean.  (He can be really mean, although the last time we were there with Cider, when he was mean, I could run to the pool and get in it.  The pool was safe.  Cider knew the pool was safe and he just sat outside the pool until I jumped out and ran.)  But this time, he wouldn't let me get to the pool.  He growled and barked and bared his teeth at me.

I could see Mom was a little scared.  She got between me and Cider and I was ascared that Cider might bite her.  She tried to make him be good, but he got worse and I was really ascared for her.  So finally, I went to the gate and said, "Mom, lets go.  I don't want Cider to bite you."  And she agreed with me, and told Cider's human that we were leaving.  I think she was mad at Cider's human.

I was disappointed, 'cuz I like playing at the Dog Park.  But I told Mom we should go to a place we had seen on one of our walks.  It's a fenced in park by an old abandoned school.  And we saw people playing with dogs there.  So I suggested we go there.

And we did.  It was a pretty park.  It had fences all around.  And a funny little river with water.  Almost like my swimmiIng pools at the dog park.   It was pretty neat.

I played by myself for a little while, but then, more dogs came!  Really fun dogs.  Two labradors and they seemed to really like me too.

We introduced ourselves.   And then I showed them my favorite game.  They liked playing tug-a-war with my frizbee, just like me!

So, good things come when you take good care of your human.  I think Mom really liked this new place I took her to.  And, these new friends aren't going to bite her.  So all's well that ends well.  Like I said, Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.  (Take that Cider!)

Love ya,  G.

Hi, y'all!

Bet you've been wondering what happened to me?  It's a long story.  Started back when Mom and Dad left me in California while they...
