I Thought I was a Big Dog, but...

Saturday we did something really different.  It was a surprise for me.  At least I think it was.  Anyway, I was surprised.

Mom and Dad had their walking shoes on, so I thought we were going down Pershing or Forsyth, like we sometimes do.  But instead we got in the car.  Maybe the Dog Park?   I was excited.  Dad hardly ever goes with us to the Dog Park.  But no.  We took a left out of the driveway.  The Dog Park is right.

We went on the road we usually walk when we do Pershing.  But we were in the car.  Weird.  Where were we going?

Finally, we parked next to a huge Park.  It was waaayyy bigger than my dog park.  And all the dogs were on leashes.  Mom and Dad made me keep my leash on, too.  But we started walking and there were soooo many new smells and soooo many dogs and people to see.  It was really interesting.

We walked and walked and walked.  Till we had walked a lot farther than I had ever walked before.  But I was doing really good.  Mom said so.  I think that means I didn't jump at EVERY dog that went by.  (Just the really cute ones.)

But then.  You wouldn't believe the dogs I saw.  They were huge.  Really huge.  I have never seen dogs so big.  And they weren't on leashes, but they were trapped behind big fences.  I was hypnotized just watching them.

Where do they grow puppies that big?  Are they dangerous?  I kept as far away as I could.

Mom said they were horses.  I never heard of dogs called horses.  But they were really cool.  Maybe if I took some growth hormones, could I get to be as big as they are?  Then I wouldn't have to duck and dodge with Luca.  I could just sit on him.  Hee, hee.  That would be sooooooo much fun!

It's good to explore your world.  You can find so many fun and exciting things out there.  I hope I can find more fun things like super big dogs called horses.

Curiouser & Curiouser

Mom had a birthday recently.  (Shall I tell you how old she is?  No, probably not.  Number 1: She probably wouldn't like me squealing, and Number 2:  It probably constitutes digressing and as you know I'm supposed to not do that anymore.)

Anyway, my Grandma sent her a birthday present.  She seemed really pleased with it.  But I had a hard time with it.  You see it was these three little boxes.  What would you do with three little boxes?  I know what I would do with three little boxes.  I would eat them!  That's what I would do!

Apparently that wasn't the right answer, 'cuz Mom shooed me away when I tried to eat them.  She said they were Music Boxes.  Hmmm.  She did something to the back of one of them, and what do ya know?  Music came from it.

I tried to sing with it.  But Dad told me to quit.  I don't know why.  He can't sing any better than me.  But I did.

What fun is a Music Box if you can't eat it and you can't sing with it?  You tell me.  So I just gave up.  Mom can have her old Birthday present.  I sure don't want it!  Grandma, if you give me a birthday present, can it please be something I can eat?  Thanks.  I would like that.

What an exciting Labor Day Weekend!

I have to apologize.  I'm very late this week.  But I've had a very, very busy week.  I've just now had a chance to sit down and write this blog.

You're wondering what a puppy dog could be so busy at, I'll bet.  But here's what happened.  Mom and Dad left to go to a wedding in Connecticut.  They even went to see my grandma in Connecticut.  I've never met my grandma in Connecticut.  I hope I get to see her sometime.  Uh, oh, I'm digressing again.  Sorry.

I was busy over Labor Day weekend for a lot of reasons.  First, my Auntie Annie came out to take care of me while the parents were in Connecticut.  I'd never met my Auntie Annie before.  Mom and I wanted her to have a good time here, so we asked my very dear Auntie Debbie to help too.  And she set up a meeting with the Humane Society for Auntie Annie.  You see both of them volunteer for the Humane Society to take care of stray dogs just like me.  Only, Auntie Debbie does it here in St. Louis and Auntie Annie does it in South Carolina.  It's really good of both of them.  But Auntie Debbie took my Auntie Annie to the Humane Society in St. Louis so she could compare it to the one she has in South Carolina.  Then, they did something really really fun.  They took me with them to Happy Hour!

Here we are at WheelHouse for Happy Hour.  I've never been to the Wheelhouse before.  It was really great.  They got something called Hummus and Chips.  I got a bunch of the chips!  I loved it.  No wonder they call it Happy Hour.  I was very, very Happy!

And Auntie Debbie took really good care of my Auntie Annie.  I liked that.  She's a really good Auntie!

Then it was Auntie Annie and me by ourselves.  She needed some training, it was clear.  My Mom had taken her to my Dog Park, so she knew where it was.  But I had to tell her when we had to go.  Like one day, she got on the phone with Mom.  I wanted to go to the Dog Park.  So I gave her the Evil Eye!

It took a minute or two, but she finally got the idea.   We NEEDED to go to the Dog Park.  Now!

If you have Aunties, you should really be good to them.  'Cuz you know what?  They are really good to you if you are good to them.  I especially like that Auntie Debbie helped my Auntie Annie.  It's nice to know that your Aunties are all out for you!  You can't lose that way!

So, from me to you:  Take care of your Aunties.  And they will take care of you.  (And of each other.)

Love G.

Hi, y'all!

Bet you've been wondering what happened to me?  It's a long story.  Started back when Mom and Dad left me in California while they...
