Meditation by Guinness

My Auntie Annie asked me to do a blog on Meditation (she liked my blog on Yoga).  So I am going to do that now.

I meditate regularly.  Meditation is great for the puppy soul.  It's great for every soul.  And really, it's a very personal thing.  Some meditation is done with breathing techniques.  Some is done with muscle relaxing techniques.  My meditation is a mixture of both.

I can meditate almost anywhere.  Here, for example, I was gazing out over the DC Ranch
golf course, and suddenly felt the urge to meditate.  So I just sat and gazed and breathed in the wonderful essence of the area.  (Unfortunately, my Dad is not so into meditation and very soon was pulling on my leash to keep walking before we got hit with a golf ball.)

In Clayton, there are so many places and situations in which I meditate.  Here is one:

Sometimes when I'm on my bed (the bed I let Mom and Dad sleep in sometimes), I will hang my head over the edge and just contemplate the floor.  It is so relaxing and soon I go to sleep.  (Actually, a lot of my meditation ends up in sleep.)

Then, sometimes I just concentrate on one interesting piece that I put near my meditations spot.  Here I am meditating on a bone.  It feels really good to meditate on a bone.

And WHERE you meditate can make a big difference in your success as a meditator.  I think that's what you call one who meditates.  As opposed to the bone, which is a meditatee - one who is meditated upon.  (I learned that from looking at Mom and Dad's legal books).

I really like to meditate on the stair landing.  (I mean, that's WHERE I meditate, not that the stair landing is the meditatee.  It's actually a boring medatatee, but it's a good place to meditate.)  Especially when Mom is downstairs and Dad is upstairs.  Then I can keep tabs on both of them, even while I'm in a meditative state.  Depending on which one needs more of my attention will dictate my meditative posture.  If Mom is downstairs and making noises that sound like dinner may be coming, I meditate with my head towards the kitchen.

But if Dad is making noises like he is going to come downstairs, then I meditate with my head towards the upstairs.

But the best meditation for me is when I just sit and think about the sunsets in Arizona. Then I just veg out and fall asleep.

Hope you have a successful Meditation Practice.  Call me if you have any questions on how to meditate.

Love,

G
