Let's start with Daisy. Daisy is cute as a button. She's a Yorkie and she shakes. All the time. Brad (he's the trainer, remember him?). Brad told her human, not to worry, Yorkie's all shake. What is that about? But, if I were Daisy, I might shake too. Here is Daisy.
Isn't she a cutie? She's only as big as her human's shoes! She weighs 2 1/2 pounds! I weigh 23 times as much as she does.
Then there is Pebbles. Pebbles is a Mastiff. Pebbles weighs 3 1/2 times as much as me and 80 times as much as Daisy. Brad warned us that Pebbles is a "Tooter". I didn't know what that meant until halfway through class. I don't know if a Senior Citizen would like a Therapy Dog who is a "Tooter". But maybe little kids would, though. At least little boys!
We had to do exercises that were pretty easy at first. At least for me. We just had to show Brad that we could sit and lie quietly while he did funny things around us. I was the best! Tooter's Dad said so.
Daisy is kind of a Princess. She had to have a magic carpet to sit on before she would behave. But she did pretty good, too.
Pebbles did good, too, but it was really hard for poor Pebbles. Imagine having to get up and go down and you have to haul 200 pounds everytime you do it.
That's what he was telling Brad, when Brad asked Pebbles to do a Down. Pebbles said, "You try and do push ups when you weigh 200 pounds!"
So Brad said, That's OK, you can go back to your seat now, you've been a good dog."
But do you know what that dog did? She - Pebbles is a she - she came over to Daisy and tried to flirt with Daisy.
But I know Daisy would rather play with me because everytime Brad turned around, Daisy would sneak out of Sharon's lap and try to come over and kiss me!
Anyway. We all did good for the first week. But now I have to start thinking about where my new career will take me. Should I be a TD for Senior's? Should I have a two legged puppy read to me?
Do you know any Therapy Dogs? What kinds of things do they do? What do you think I would be good at? If you have any comments, I would love to hear from you. I just don't know what to major in!
Love, G
