One Last Goodbye

Guess what?  I came to Rainbow Bridge yesterday.  It was a super dreary day and I wasn't feeling all that great.  In fact I hadn't been feeling all that great for a few weeks now.  Mom and Dad took me to the vet, but they said my liver was bleeding into my body and there wasn't anything more to do.  I was OK with it.  I've been around longer than Mom and Dad in dog years, so it was time to say goodbye.

But guess who is here with me?  The first pup who came racing up to greet me was little Kiela.  Keila and I have always had a special bond.  Whenever we get together, she comes running my way and we just play really gently.  Kiela is an older woman, you see.  She was 13 when I was 12.  But I hadn't seen her in so long now, and I didn't know where she had gone.  But she is here with me now!  It makes me very happy.

And you remember my cousin, Frosty.  We met in Los Angeles when I stayed at my Auntie Joyce's.  He's here with me, too.

And all my old girlfriends, Molly and Mattie, and Lucy and Coco.  And my brothers I never met before, Brandy, Hercules and Caesar Rodney.  Everybody is here.  Even Mr. Tom who used to let me sleep in his bed with TomCat when I would stay with Mrs. Jan.  He remembered me!  Even after all these years.

There was a Border Collie named Caiden (don't know if I spelled his name right, but that's how it sounded to me) and his friend who was a black kittie called Hallo.  They told me they were my cousins, too.  I never met them before but they're up here waiting for my Auntie Joanie to come.

I know Mom and Dad will be a little sad for a while.  And Dad will be mad because he won't have me to take a nap with and to go bark at Mom when he needs her to find his stuff.  But they knew how much I was hurting, so they let me come here where I feel like a puppy again and get to play with all my old friends while I wait for them to come and get me forever.

So I hope I'll see you all sometime when we all get together up here over Rainbow Bridge.  (And if you don't know the story of Rainbow Bridge, you can watch it here:  The Legend of Rainbow Bridge.  Actually, even if you already know the story of Rainbow Bridge, you should watch the video because it will make you feel better.

So I'm off to play now and sleep.  Please don't be sad.  It'll be just a little time and we'll all be together again.

Busted!!!

So this is kind of an embarrassing story, but I'm going to tell it anyway.  See, a week or so ago, Mom and Dad went east to celebrate my great Aunt Angie's Birthday.   She lives in Delaware (and sometimes in Florida), but sometimes she comes to visit me, too.  She's very nice, so Happy Birthday, Aunt Angie!

Oh, where was I.  That was not the embarrassing part.  What happened was this.  Aaron was taking care of me.  He works a lot and one day, he was taking a nap.  We had just gone out for a walk.  Apparently, when he closed the front door, he didn't push it real tight.  So eventually, the door began to open.  I went in to tell Aaron, but he was fast asleep.  So I decided to do what I've always wanted to do.  I went out and ran down the street and around the corner to go see my friends Mr. Grant and Mrs. Geri.  I went right up to their gate and waited.

And I waited. And I waited some more.  After a while I decided, they might not be home.  So I went on to the green spot where sometimes Baxter and his mom come out and play with me.  But no one seemed to be home there either.

Then I didn't know what to do.   So I just sat and waited.

Not too long later, a gal and her husband came out to the green spot from their house at the end of the street.  I didn't think I knew them, but she said, "Oh, I know that dog.  He lives up the street."  She checked my tags which have my address (but not my name, so I won't get easily kidnapped.)  So I went up to her and tried to tell her that she was right, and maybe it might be time for me to go home.  She walked with me to my house and she saw the open door.  Then she put me in and yelled, but no one answered.  Aaron must have gone to look for me, 'cuz he wasn't there.  He came back later and seemed rather puzzled as to how I got back in.   I pretended not to know.  (Hee, hee)

Anyway, the embarrassing part was when Mom and Dad came home.  We were walking by the green spot and the lady who lives at the end of the street came out and called to Mom and Dad.  She told them the whole story.  So I got busted.  I just smiled and pretended it must have been some other dog.  "Cuz I'm a perfect pooch!

Anyway, that was my fun adventure.  Mom said Hercules (her other dog) had done the exact same thing in St. Louis, except that he went across a busy highway before he found someone to take him home.  She says all her pups are just smart cookies who know how to get people to take good care of them.  I don't know any smart cookies, but I sure could use a tasty cookie just now!

So hope your adventures end up as happy as mine.

Escaping the Heat

So you thought I might have melted, did you?  Well, no.  We all escaped the Arizona heat for a while in California.  Well, Mom and Dad went on a cruise to the Baltics, but they left me in Los Angeles with Mrs. Lynne again.  When they finally came to get me, we all went to Dana Point for 6 cool weeks.

I really like Dana Point because there is a boardwalk right across the parking lot and 200 feet above the ocean.  This is me in front of our condo with the ocean in the back.

I made Mom and Dad take me out there and we walked 4 or 5 times a day.  I met tons of other fun dogs (and some not so fun).  And a neighbor who had this lovely blue eyed white dog about my size and she really liked me.  Well, what's not to like?

I found a lovely spot in the condo for napping.

And we all sat out on the front porch and watched the sun set.

My Auntie Joyce and Uncle Ron came to visit for a couple of days.

Dana Point wouldn't let me go on the beach, but Mom and Dad took me up the street to Aliso Beach where I could go after 6 pm.  We caught another fun sunset there, too and I jumped in the salty water before the waves tried to drown me.

But what I really liked, was we went out to dinner so many times and I went every time.  I even went to a fancy French restaurant to celebrate Mom and Dad's anniversary.

I do like going to California to get out of the heat.  We can't move there though, Mom says, because the traffic is terrible.  Which is why we didn't travel very far.  But that's OK, cuz we had everything we needed really close.

So now we're back in Scottsdale and it's still hot, but not 117 degrees hot, just 98 degrees.  It's getting better.

April is a good month!

I know it's been a long time, but I really didn't have much to talk about until now.  April has been an exciting month.

First of all, April is my birthday month.  It's also my Dad's birthday month.  So Mom took "her boys" to an old old inn in Paradise Valley.  It's called The Hermosa Inn.  It has lots and lots of flowers I've never smelled before.

I went on a smelling spree!

And then Dad and I got to nap in a big old bed.

And when we got back, one of our agaves grew a new tower in just a week.  Here is what it looked like after about 3 days.

And then it climbed right up to the roof and is developing flowers!  I can't believe it.

After that, my Aunt Joyce and Uncle Ron came to visit.  And just in time!  Because they got to see our neighborhood Wonder of the World.  It's a Giant Argentinian Cactus that blooms once a year to say, Spring is Here! and then the flowers wither on the cactus.  Aunt Joyce and Uncle Ron got here just in time to see it.

It was really good to see my Aunt and Uncle.  I hope they come back.  They said they would bring a new puppy the next time they come.  I hope so.  I'm a really good teacher to young puppies.

The last thing that happened, happened yesterday.  Mom and I went for a walk over on the west green spot.  It's pretty big.  And at the far end, we saw two young coyotes playing and jumping.  Then they headed off.  So we kept walking the way we always do.  But when we got to where they had been, they were still in a corner about a half a football field away from us.  Mom said, OK, Guinness, let's quietly leave this area.  But they saw me and I guess they thought I might be one of them.  One of them started to come over to us.  Mom started waving and shouting at him.  (She said she read that in a novel).  He stopped.  We started up again but so did he.  So she shouted louder.  Then I dragged Mom towards home and we didn't see them again.  Whew!  I think they just wanted to play, but maybe not?

So Happy Easter and I hope you are having as good a spring as I am!

Love, G

Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Joyous Kwanzaa and whatever you celebrate!

I've written a poem for this Happy Season (and of course, I star in it!):

Guinness the Bright Eyed Rescue

Had two very dazzling eyes

And if you ever saw them

You couldn’t help but give him smiles.

All of the other puppies,

Used to laugh and call him names

They were just really jealous

Guinness was a dog of fame

Then one dreary Christmas Day

Santa came to say,

Guinness with your gaze that lifts

Won’t you steer my sleigh of gifts

Then how they all just loved him

As they shouted out to G

Guinness the Bright Eyed Rescue

You’ll go down in history.

(If I don't look all that sparkly, it's because I'm getting tired of Mom making me pose for pictures.)  But have a Wonderful Holiday and don't get drunk for New Year's!

Thursday, October 31, 2024

Hi, y'all!

Bet you've been wondering what happened to me?  It's a long story.  Started back when Mom and Dad left me in California while they took a  two week cruise in the Mediterranean.  (Dad couldn't stand the thought of me in the Phoenix heat in the middle of August, so  I spent two weeks with friends of my Aunt Joyce in California where the weather was wonderful.

Dad had a really good idea, there!)

I  got in some pretty good walks, and lots and lots of Muffin Tin Games.  Aunt Joyce's friends really liked my Muffin Tin Game, and since it means lots of treats for me -- well I like it pretty well too.

Mom and Dad FINALLY came and picked me up from Auntie Joyce's and we all went to a VRBO in Dana Point.  Talk about beautiful weather.  And  we got to walk on the boardwalk about 200 feet above the sea.

Unfortunately, they weren't as dog friendly as I would have liked.

We did however get to eat in some really nice spots.

But despite all that great exercise, I wasn't eating like I usually do.  Mom tried lots of kinds of dog food -- Purina Canned meats in gravy; Purina canned ground meats; Instinct Freeze Dried food; Fresh Pet and finally, she actually bought me Farmer's Dog.  I ate all of them for a day or two, and then I said forget it.  They didn't taste so good anymore.  By the time we got home, I was 10 pounds lighter.

So guess where we went?  You got it!  The vet.  They did a scan to see what was happening in my stomach.  And they did blood tests.  They decided I did not have Valley Fever and maybe I wasn't digesting my proteins.  So they put me on another kind of dog food.  We did samples, and I liked the Purina Hydrolyzed Protein best.  So I gobbled it down the first couple of days.  Then I didn't.   And mom gives me something called Entice to make me hungry.  I don't much like it, but I have to admit, I'll eat anything and everything after I take the Entice.

Meanwhile, we left California a couple of days early on September 11, because it was getting cold in California, and the weather looked like it was getting cooler in Arizona.  Unfortunately (or fortunately, as you will soon see), we got another heat wave in Arizona.  So Mom found us a VRBO in Prescott for a few days and we headed up there where the weather was 15 degrees cooler.  It was lovely.  We stayed in a historic cottage, built in 1909 with a fun little garden that I could wander around in.

There were actually three cottages attached to each other, but we were the only ones there.  I really liked it.  I think my Auntie's would like it too!

Now we're back in Scottsdale.  It's beginning to get cooler finally.  My friends have all started to come back.  One day, I scared two javelinas in the underbrush and one ran in one direction and the other ran the other way.  That meant we had to choose which way to go and either way we chose was going to run into one of the javelinas.  So we continued on until, there he was.  Sitting in the brush just staring at us as if to say, "Please just keep going and pretend you don't see me!"

 And we did.

Then -- when we got back home and I was just ready to go out the back, but I barked to call Mom.  There on the back wall Bob Katt.

He got up and winked at me, and then crawled across the wall till he disappeared.  Not very quickly, I don't think he is afraid of us much.  Not like the javelinas.

And yesterday, when Mom and I took a walk in the morning, I stopped real quick again.  In front of us was Bob Katt just staring at us right on the walk.  He wasn't going to let us by and he wasn't going to move.  He looked just like the cats I saw in Prescott who just looked at me and didn't move away.  So Mom and I turned around and went the other way.  I don't think my friend would hurt me, but he might hurt Mom, so it's just as well.  Though I would really like to play with him.

So that's what's been happening here.  I'll try to be better about keeping up.  Hope you all have a good Halloween.  I'm dressing up in a Pumpkin Bandana and then I'm going to go trick or treating at Mr. Grant's and Mrs. Geri's.  I KNOW they will have treats for me, and I will do my Paw trick for them.

See you in November!

Hee, hee, love, G.

My Magnificent Friends

You’ve all met some of my friends.  You must remember Bob Katt and Javalina.  There was a rattle snake, too, but Mom doesn’t like me to mention him.  Especially since she paid a lot of money to get me to run the other way when I would see or smell or hear a rattle snake.  Instead I tried to run up and explore it.  She got me going the other way really really really quick!  Then there was the tiny Western Screech Owl that came to play with me on my porch.

Well, now I have a new owl friend.  Actually, make that two owl friends.  Only these guys didn’t come to play with me on my porch.  Mostly because, they probably wouldn’t fit on my porch.  Well maybe I exaggerate a bit, but they are pretty big.  Google says they are Great Horned Owls.  Cool!

Mom said they maybe could pick me up and take me away with them.  But I don’t think they would do that.  They just watched us very, very, very, closely.  I was hoping they would fly out of the tree so I could watch their big wings.  That might have been a bit scary for all of us.  Maybe it was better that we watched them from way down on the ground while they were way up in the trees.  I would worry a lot if I were a smaller dog, like my little friend Baxter.  He’s only about 8 pounds and I bet they could snatch him away in a minute!

I don’t see many of my animal friends around much these days.  It’s just too hot for them.  The rabbits are digging holes and burying themselves in them to keep themselves cooler.  Mom takes me out at 6:00 a.m. and at night we wait till the sun is almost gone.  It’s still hot but it doesn’t burn my feet then.  And I don’t like to put on my booties.

Yesterday, I was getting bored ‘cuz we can’t take walks in the middle of the day.  I stared at Mom for a full ten minutes to get her to do something about it.  When she wouldn’t do anything, I stared at Dad.  He finally got frustrated and asked Mom what I wanted.  She said, “Well, he’s bored.  Let’s all go take a ride.”  So we went for ice cream in a place that had a lot of misters to keep us all cool.  I got the whipped cream in a cup.  Pretty neat, huh!

Anyway, I kinda got off on my story about my friends.  But since I don’t see them as much, there isn’t a lot more to tell.  So stay cool!

Love, G

I’m On Strike!

One of my jobs for the last 10 years is to fetch the paper every single morning.  And sometimes when the paper is late, I have to go out two and three times before I can get it in. You remember this video don't you?

Well maybe not, if you can't see the video, but if you can't, it's me running up the street to grab the paper and run it to the front door.  (By the way, that was four years ago.  I don't run that fast to get the paper anymore.  But I DO run that fast to go see Grant when I know he's on his porch!)  Uh, oh, I'm digressing again.

Whenever I bring the paper in, I get a treat from Mom.  One lousy, tiny, mini, little treat meant for those tiny little sugar puff dogs that weigh 3 pounds.  On Sundays, I get two.  Well no more.  Last week I started putting my foot down.

This is me on Wednesday:

I trotted to the paper, then I turned around and said, "Not doing it," and walked to the front door.  Mom looked puzzled, and she brought me the paper to the front door.  I couldn't help myself, I've been doing it for 10 years, you know.  I took the paper and brought it in for my mini treat.  But I gave her a dirty look and she gave me a second one.

On Thursday, I brought the paper in as usual, fully expecting we had a new agreement, but she gave me the one measly treat again.  So on Friday, this was me:

I started for the paper, then I said, "Whoa", I think someone needs another lesson.  So I trotted to the front door.  I heard Mom say to Dad, "Do you think he wants a raise?"  Sometimes humans are not as dense as they seem.  We went into the house, I brought the paper in, and now I get two treats for regular days and four for Sundays.  (Although, I probably shouldn't get as much for Monday papers.  They're hardly worth the trouble of bringing in!

And don't suggest they read the paper on their ipads!  I need my job!

Hope you are getting paid your due for whatever you do.  Get it?  Due for do.  (No I don't mean doo doo you people with dirty minds!)

Anyway, love, G

Spring Has Sprung

Yes, indeed:  Spring has sprung; the grass is riz; and I know where the flowers is!!

Hee hee, I might have Spring Fever.  Or else I drank too much of Mom's wine when she wasn't  looking.  No, you know me, I didn't drink Mom's wine.  I just eat her cookies.  They're a lot better than wine any day.

But this week was really cool.

See, first there was the first cactus flower:

Then Mom just HAD to take my picture with some other flowers.  She says I always need to be in the blog somehow.  So I sat for another photo.

I make sure she knows I don't like it, however.  That's why I won't look at her when she does this.  I don't mind being in pictures.  But NOT with flowers.  Yeck!

Anyway, the next day the ARGETINE GIANT CACTUS FLOWER (or maybe its a night bloomimg cereus cactus - Google couldn't decide) decided to start sprouting:

And then the next day, a few more came out.

And then even more came out the next day.

And of course, Mom had to plant me in front of the flowers!

But best of all, Mom's Blue Plumbago that got chewed on by the rabbits finally sprouted some pretty blue blossoms, too.

Yes, I do believe that Spring has Sprung.  And look at all the flowers I found!

Hope spring has come to your area.  But stay away from the wine!

Fun Fairs

It's spring!  Well maybe not where you are, but it is here.  I know because the Fairs start in the spring.  You can't have fairs in the winter because it's too cold.  I guess they could do it inside, but where's the fun in that?

So Mom and me went to the Fountain Hills Arts & Craft Fair.  (Wait -- did I do that wrong again.  Mrs Sam says you should just use "me" in the sentence to see if it's correct.  So, Me went to the Fair.  No that's definitely not right.  Don't tell Mom I screwed up the grammar again.  She hates when anyone uses the wrong pronouns in a sentence.  You should here her when the news people do it!  She's fit to be tied!  And what the heck does that mean anyway?  Uh, oh.  I have digressed so far I'm not sure I can get back. )  Wait - We went to the fair in Fountain Hills!  That's where I was.

So Fountain Hills is 30 minutes away and we hardly ever go there.  I was watching carefully to make sure she was going the right way.  Unfortunately she was in the wrong lane when I saw the signs for the Fair.  She was listening to that old GPS she uses.  I keep telling her to just look where she is going.  But does she listen to Me?  Well sometimes.  But anyway, we finally found the fair AND a place to park.

There were soooooo many booths and people and smells.  Especially smells.  We went up and down the streets checking out everything.  I got treats along the way.  Maybe I like that part even more than the smells. Yeah, definitely like that part best.

I saw a t-shirt I tried to get Mom to buy.  It was pretty funny, but she said no.  So she took a picture for me.

I think that's the best excuse for being late for anything.

She got some ideas for making things.  I'm thinking a bunch of relatives might be getting homemade car trash bags.  Booooring.!  I like her homemade chocolate chip cookies better.  Although for some reason, the pieces of cookie that I get, never have chocolate chips in them.  But they're still pretty yummy.  Dad likes them a lot!

We got back home and I was bushed.  (Also, it started with the thunder - I'm not big on the thunder.  But you all already know that.  I found my spot next to Dad on the couch.  That's where I like to be when the thunder starts.)

Safe and dry!  That's the best place to be when the thunder starts!

Hope you get to go to some fun fairs when your spring starts.  But get inside quick if the thunder starts.

Beauty is Fleeting

I decided to change my image for the New Year.  I’m going with permanent blue eyebrows.

Do you like them?  Well sorry.  I lied!

Those are not my new eyebrows.  I had a little growth above my eye.  It wasn’t very pretty at all.  And it kept getting bigger.  Mom took me to the vet and she said not to worry about it too much.  She thought it was something kind of normal and would just fall off by itself.

Well it didn’t just fall off.  At least not soon enough.  All of our friends and neighbors made comments about my big ugly growth.  Pretty soon, Mom was getting embarrassed about it.  I told her I didn’t care, but she apparently did.

So back to the vet we went to get it off.  And the blue eyebrows is what I came back with.  The vet said I had to wear one of those nasty e-collars for 10 days.  But Mom said if I promised not to rub the eye, then I wouldn’t have to wear it.  So I was good.  But I’m always good, you know that!

So after that the neighbors made comments about my blue eyebrows.  You can’t win with the neighbors.  They just worry about me all the time.  I guess that’s good.  Now I’m back to my normal eyes.  I think the blue eyebrows were kinda pretty.  And speaking of kinda pretty.

Last year, Mom had my portrait done from her favorite picture of me.  She finally finally finally got it framed.  Now it greets our visitors just as soon as they open our front door.  It also sits right above our ceramic chocolate labrador.  (Mom always said it looks like all my brothers!)  Here it is.

Pretty cool, huh?!

Anyway, Mom says, I’m still my old beautiful self, even without my blue eyebrows!  And I agree!

Hope you think you’re beautiful, too.  Cuz I do!

Love, G

Raindrops on Roses...

You know that song, don't you?  Mom says it was my Grandpa's favorite song.  It fits today, 'cuz there really are raindrops out there.  They aren't on our roses 'cuz we don't have any roses, but they are all over our Bougainvillea.  We're not going to have a white Christmas, but that's OK.  We don't ever have a white Christmas.  Oh, there I go again.  Digressing!

Raindrops on Roses is a song about Favorite Things.  And at the end of the year I like to think back on my Favorite Things.  Especially when the year has been as wild as ours was this year.  So let me think a minute and come up with some of those things:

First:  Belly Rubs.  I love, love, love. love, Belly Rubs.  And it doesn't just make my belly feel good, I get to scratch my back in the grass when I get a Belly Rub.  Yes, Belly Rubs have to be up there as one of my Favorite Things.

Second:  Pete the Chef.  He's the best!  He comes to make food for Mom & Dad so they get to pick their meals for the day from a whole menu of choices - just like eating out every single night.  But even better is the part where he makes the dishes and lets me test the food.  He makes really really really really good turkey.  And he lets me watch him the whole time.  Yeah, Pete the Chef is another of my absolute favorite things for 2023.

Third:  My very own TV.  I can sit for hours watching my TV.  People go by and dogs go by.  But the best part is when the delivery guys come by.  Then I bark and let Mom know they are coming, but they get really really really really scared.  Sometimes they just throw the package at the door.  I guess they think that I would know how to bit them, but I don't!  Anyway it's fun to watch them.

Fourth:  Eating out with my Mom & Dad.  They take me to breakfast and to lunch and to dinner with them almost every time they go out to eat.  We go to one place, called Vito's where all of the wait staff come rushing out to see me and to say hello.  I'm always the highlight of Mom and Dad's meal out.  Everybody loves to have me there.  (Except that one place they go up the street -- the Country Club won't let me come so they don't go there as often.)

Fifth:  California beaches.  I love love love love love the beaches in California.  I can run and splash and plop in the water.  And I meet all kinds of fun dogs and it's just the very best fun!  I love the California beaches.  I wish we could put one in our back yard.  Mom tried to give me a swimming pool, but it looks more like a bathtub, so I don't play in it.  We need a real beach!

Sixth: The last of the ice cream box.  UMMMM, it's really good.  I keep hoping when Mom takes out the ice cream that it will be almost empty.  It doesn't happen enough, but when it does, I'M RIGHT THERE!!

Seventh:  Sitting in the grass.  Sometimes I make Mom stop and sit on our walks so I can just sit in the shady grass and just veg.  It's good for her too.  She needs to stop and smell the grass just like I do sometimes.  So we just stop and veg.  It's very peaceful.

So that's my favorite things for this year.  And I need to say goodbye with a proper wish to you all.  Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Joyous Kwanzaa, Happy Holidays and have the Absolute Best New Year!

All my love,  G

Happy Thanksgiving Idea from ME!

Mom says we've been invited somewhere for Thanksgiving.  One of Dad's friends, I think.  So we've been thinking about what to bring, 'cuz, you know, "Just bring yourselves!"  But Dad thinks we should bring something else as well as "just ourselves".  Course, he put Mom and me in charge of what to bring.

So Mom decided to bake cookies.  My Mom says she hasn't baked cookies since Hercules was around.  Hercules was my former former brother.  Probably before the turn of the century.  (Wow does that sound like a long long long long time ago.)  Anyway, so while Dad was in a golf tournament, me and Mom (I and Mom?  Mom and I?  Mom and me?) made Swedish Cream Wafers.  They were cute, but I didn't get to eat even one.   They don't make a lot.  BUTTTTTT,   if the cookies taste anything like the bowl of icing she let me lick???  They were pretty good.

Later, when Dad came home, he declared we could bring those cookies  to Thanksgiving, even though he likes chocolate chip cookies better.  So to celebrate we had ice cream.  It's still pretty warm here in Scottsdale, so ice cream is always good.

That's when I decided that Thanksgiving should have Ice Cream.  Ice Cream for dinner and then for dessert.  It's easy and it tastes good and it doesn't take as long as baking cookies.  So that's my vote for this Thanksgiving.

Hope you all have a Happy Thanksgiving with lots and lots of Ice Cream!

Cavorting in California

So I know you just can't wait to hear about our adventures in California.  I am happy to report that Mom and Dad are all better now, and so I can return to my normal activities of describing the more fun aspects of our lives.

Anyway, we stayed in a cute little condo

But the best part of the condo, was where it was located.  First off, it was right across from a very very very very big green spot.  I loved that green spot.  We played frisbee there and wandered all over it.  It even had a big sand volleyball court and I ran through the sand.  Mom and Dad let me sit outside the swimming pool while they took a swim in the adult pool there.  It was so much fun that I made Mom take me out there every hour or so.  (Till she couldn't take it anymore)  This is me reveling in my very big green spot.

We were also very close to two very big lakes, so every morning we went on a walk.  Sometimes we went to the lakes, and sometimes we went around the lakes.  (And sometimes we just went up the street to breakfast.)  There was a pavilion and a bridge and lots of houses on the lake and GEESE.  Once, we were driving and there was a sign that said"Caution:  Geese Crossing" and sure 'nough, we had to wait for a bunch of geese to cross the road.  How come they never have a sign for me to cross the road?

After all that walking every day, I had to take a nap.  Sometimes I snuck in Dad's side of the bed, but when that didn't work, I just found my own spot.  Mom just can't understand why I think this is more comfortable than my own doggie bed (which she hauled all the way from Scottsdale for me), it just is!

There was just one thing I didn't like about this condo.  It was right next to a grumpy person.  You know that I have lived in the Hyatt Regency in Laguna, and the Regis Hotel in Park City, and many more hotels and AirBnB's all over.  Never once did anyone complain that I was too noisy.  But this grumpy person kept coming close to my bedroom window and I kept telling her to go away.  Instead she called the HOA on Mom and Dad.  They just shut the curtain so the mean lady wouldn't bother me any more.  We coulda done without her.

Hope all your neighbors are the friendly kind.

Love, G

One Last Goodbye

Guess what?  I came to Rainbow Bridge yesterday.  It was a super dreary day and I wasn't feeling all that great.  In fact I hadn't...
