Life Without Mom

Mom's been gone for a few days now.  It's not so bad, though.  Dad DOES know where my food is, and that's important.  We go on long walks every morning.  Just like when Mom is here.

And every morning after our walk, Dad feeds me and gets his breakfast and then we both sit out on the patio.  He reads his paper to me while I sit in the sun.  Well, he doesn't really read it to me.  But I pretend he does.  That way I can say that I am very courant with the news.  I like to be courant with the news.

Later, we do all sorts of important stuff.  And then at dinner, Dad brings my food outside and he reads the news on his phone.  I do my neck stretches and relax after a busy day.

Dad and I do pretty well together.  (As long as I don't eat his glasses and his golf gloves.)  But I do miss Mom.  She can come home anytime she wants.  I'm just waiting patiently here for her.  (And taking good care of Dad!)

It's Official!

I am a Therapy Dog!  Finally!  We got our certificate and my tag in the mail yesterday.

Mom and I are a team.  See - it says so right here:

I'm so proud.  And I have this really net tag to wear.

Well, maybe that's kinda hard to read.  But doesn't it look just stunning on me?  I think so.  Wait, here is what it says:

I can only wear it when I go on official business of the Alliance of Therapy Dogs.  But it doesn't matter.  'Cuz I know I am a Therapy Dog whether or not I'm on official business.  I will be conducting myself according to he rules and regulations of the ATD (that's the Alliance of Therapy Dogs in case you didn't know) at all times.

Now if we can just get Mom past the fingerprint and background check.  We got notice that they were processing things for her, but so far nothing.  I think there might be a problem.  She keeps using different names, you know.  They might think she's a spy or something.  Sometimes she says her name is Mary.  Sometimes she says she's Ellen.  Of course they must think she's a spy.  Especially when she pretends her last name is Buckley when it's really Simmons.  I hope we can resolve this.  I'm getting anxious to go do some good things for children!

But until we get Mom straightened out, I can go to the Alzheimer Home and some other places where people need me.  So as soon as Mom comes home from Paris, we're going to go places!

Oh, did I not tell you that Mom is going to Paris with some of her sisters?  I'm kinda sad, but she says it's important that I stay cheerful and take good care of my dad.  So I'm practicing my smiles for dad.

Hmm.  I might have to work on my smiles.

Love to you all, Guinness, Professional Therapy Dog.

Pardon Our Tardiness

Hello, all,

I know I usually have my post out to you before this.  Unfortunately I have been very busy helping Mom.  The Missouri Board of Accountancy audited her continuing education credits and needed lots and lots of nutsy information by this Monday.

Then Mom's computer went on the blink.  It's been a rough week for her so I offered to tabulate her credits and organize some of her papers.

This is exhausting work.  In fact, I think it's time I hung it up for the night and went to bed.

Please excuse us this week while we get this taken care of.

Thank you for your patience.

Love,

Guinness, CPA in training.

Hi, y'all!

Bet you've been wondering what happened to me?  It's a long story.  Started back when Mom and Dad left me in California while they...
